MKR Foundation Hosts 10th Karma Award Ceremony

The MKR Foundation’s 10th Karma Award ceremony 2023 took place 2nd November 2024 at the scenic River Retreat Resort Cheruthuruthi, with distinguished guests, artists, and notable speakers joining to honor exemplary contributions to society. For the first time in the MKR Foundation’s award history, an organization was honored with the prestigious Karma Award and presented to the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) for its impactful work

The award was presented by Kerala Kalamandalam Vice Chancellor Dr. Ananthakrishnan to WCC members Bina Paul, Jolly Chirayath, and Uma Kumarapuram. Jayakrishnan Ullattil presented the citation at the event. Celebrated author Sara Joseph, and social activist Sheeba Ameer addressed the audience at the ceremony presided over by MKR Foundation Chairman Achu Ullattil . WCC member Bina Paul delivered the acceptance speech, while Dr. Shamzad Hussain provided a thought-provoking keynote address.

The event opened with a warm welcome from Thilakan Ullattil, Director of the MKR Foundation, and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ragini Ullattil. Following the formal proceedings, attendees enjoyed a vibrant musical performance featuring well-known artists from Kottakkal with a special musical segment led by composer & Idea Star Singer Fame Ms.Athira Krishnan, creating an unforgettable evening of celebration and artistry.
